Silicon manganese nitride is mixture whose the main ingredients are Si3N4 and Mn5N2, along with ferro silicon, manganese silicon and small amounts of other components. silicon manganese nitride granule is off white.

Under the same temperature of molten steel, the nitrogen recovery rate of manganese nitride is higher than single silicon nitride, and oriented silicon steel has some limitations on manganese, so compared with silicon nitride the nitrogen content of which is same,using silicon manganese nitride for increasing nitrogen content in oriented silicon steel, the nitrogen recovery rate is high, and molten steel range is small.

Application

1.Silicon manganese nitride is mainly used as increased nitrogen for oriented silicon steel, high strength steel (i.e. Above HRB400) ,foundry industry.it also can be used stainless steel smelting etc.

2. Nitrogen is a strong element that forms and stabilizes austenite, and plays an important role in the solid solution and precipitation of carbonitrides in microalloyed steels.

3.Vanadium iron and vanadium nitride alloy is generally used for the production of steel bar higher grade than HRB400,vanadium nitride alloy is used more.but as a result of the limited resources of vanadium, vanadium nitride alloy has been high price.The density of silicon manganese nitride is greater than the steel slag, and the melting point is lower than the temperature of molten steel, thus can be easily added to molten steel, which makes the yield of manganese, silicon and nitrogen reached a stable state.Besides ,it has obvious price advantage.
